For example, during the pandemic, we successfully worked to secure unemployment insurance benefits for independent contractors, ensured that travel agencies were included in the CARES Act and successfully advocated for sensible policies that helped reopen travel. With your help, our advocacy efforts also have headed off hundreds of millions of dollars of unwieldy taxes and regulations.

Health Insurance

ASTA members, including independent contractors and agencies, along with their families and employees, now have access to our association's health program. Our vendor also offers other types of coverage, including dental, vision, disability, life, accident and long-term care insurance as well as Medicare supplements. Due to state regulations, the insurance is not available in 12 states at this time.

Our in-person and online training and events are designed to help you thrive. Novices learn how to get started in the industry while experienced travel advisors can earn certification as an ASTA Verified Travel Advisor, which qualifies them for referrals and other benefits. Travel advisors also can take individual courses to stay current on travel issues, trends and specialties. Our fam trips and ASTA conferences are renowned for their value as networking and learning events and local chapters offer additional educational and networking opportunities.
